Howard Keen, LLB

A qualified Solicitor and was for many years Managing Partner and Senior Partner of Fladgate Fielder, one of the principal Commercial Law Practices in Central London. During that time he was mainly involved in corporate and property finance and acted for numerous lending institutions. In 1998 he retired from the Practice and accepted an invitation to become Executive Chairman of Southern Group and a Director of a number of its subsidiaries.

 Brian Rubins

Involved in property finance since 1959, he has held a number of senior positions in the property finance industry both as a lender and an intermediary. He formed Southern Funding in 1992 since when under his leadership, the company has established a reputation as an innovator in property finance both for investment and development. Brian Rubins is the Chief Executive of Southern Funding and Southern Group and focuses on alliances, client relationships, marketing and new financial product development.

 Stephen Meller, BA (Hons)

Stephen has held senior positions in the property industry since 1994, initially in property development, and since 1998 within property finance. He first joined Southern in1998 and remained until 2001 following which he formed his own finance consultancy, concentrating on Mainland European deals and specialising in hotel finance. He has rejoined us as a main board Director, to develop our European lending and joint venture businesses.

 Angus Whimster, FCA

After commencing his career in accountancy with KPMG he moved into a banking background specialising in property-linked loans ranging from senior debt to mezzanine and equity finance, becoming Assistant Director at a Merchant Bank in 1987. He joined Southern Funding in 1999 and is responsible for the financing needs of a growing number of residential and commercial developers.

 Mark Osmond, BA (Hons)

After graduating in Business Studies, he started his career as a Commodity Broker and then moved into private enterprise where he has successfully managed and sold two businesses. Combining entrepreneurial flair with a wealth of corporate experience at the sharp end of owning and growing a private company, Mark brings on the spot service and financial skills to our developers and investors in the South of England.
